Pukka Christmas Calendar 23 December – tea & quote

Pukka Relax

pukka-relaxPukka on little Christmas Eve:

‘Bathe in a tranquil manger of chamomile & oat flowers. Heavenly peace full of sooting marshmallow & fennel’.

Based on Ayurveda, the ancient art of living wisely, Relax balances our vata nature – this is when we are full of inspiration but can sometimes become anxious.

Drinking Pukka Relax throughout the day helps to ground and relieve any tension.

Okay, let’s try. I am the vata/pitta type, so this tea should work well for me.

Tasting Pukka Relax

Pukka Relax is a mix of chamomile flower, licorice root, sweet fennel seed, bitter fennel seed, oat flowering tops, cardamom pod, ginger root and marshmallow root.

As you might know I don’t particularly like neither chamomile nor licorice root, but none of these notes stood out.

I love fennel, cardamom and ginger, and lucky for me, I found this blend mostly tasting of sweet fennel seeds.

As most Amazon users I find this tea relaxing and warming, so Pukka Relax is a perfect evening or bedtime tea.

What is Marshmallow

Marshmallow is a plant, otherwise known as Althaea. Its roots contains ‘mucilage polysaccharides’, which possess healing, moisturizing and soothing properties.

In Ancient Egyptian, medicines made from marshmallow root was considered as gift from the Gods and only used by the royal family.

Marshmallow root has a long history dating back thousands of years as an herbal remedy for cough, sore throat and other respiratory problems such as bronchitis and whooping cough. This is due to the large amounts of mucilage found in the flower as well as the root.

Weight loss has been promoted when taking marshmallow because it swells when mixed with fluid, prompting the stomach to have a feeling of more fullness.

Maybe your new friend in the fight against the weight 😉

Quote day 23

‘People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of’.

Said by Paulo Coelho, Brazilian novelist known for employing rich symbolism in his depictions of the often spiritually motivated journeys taken by his characters.

Most famous book ‘The Alchemist’, one of the best-selling books in history.

I highly recommend this book. Today’s quote is from ‘The Alchemist’ – one of many sayings that could change your life… or at least your view on life.

Wishing you a relaxing day ♥
